Whether you have recently purchased a second home on the beautiful island of Menorca, or have owned a property here for years, you will know it is vital that your investment (probably one of the biggest you will make) is cared for to the highest standards.
You will want the reassurance that when you, your family or your paying guests arrive here, your home has been professionally cleaned, serviced and is in pristine condition, allowing everyone to enjoy a relaxing and stress-free holiday. You will also want the peace-of-mind of knowing that, in the event of any unexpected problem or emergency, there is a team of professionals ready and able to respond, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Even when you are away from the island and your home is empty, you will want regular checks and airings of the property and the resolution of any problems or maintenance issues as quickly as possible, as well as feedback on these issues.
We want to provide you with a truly complete range of services, so just ask us, and if it's possible, we will do our very best to provide it!
Our client contract provides very detailed information on each of our individual services, allowing you to measure our performance against commitments made. Wherever possible, we provide clear, transparent prices in our contract, fixed for at least 12 months.
We employ our own teams of trained, experienced and reliable people - most who have been with us for years - to provide the wide range of cleaning services necessary for our clients. Working in teams of three or four including a supervisor, the same team will clean your property each time this vital service is required.
The team supervisor will have a detailed list of everything that has to be checked at the property. We create an individual checklist for each client property, which reflects its uniqueness. In addition to ensuring the highest standard of cleaning is delivered, the supervisor is also responsible for carrying out a range of checks to ensure everything is working correctly— lights, taps, showers, toilets, main appliances etc. If any maintenance problems are identified, the office is informed immediately and one of our maintenance team will attend at once to resolve the problem.

This vital major clean before your property's first occupation is essential to set-up the property for a problem-free season as far as cleanliness and hygiene are concerned. Our deep spring clean service incorporates the de-winterisation of the property and a thorough top-to-bottom deep clean of all surfaces, furniture, appliances, crockery, cutlery, glasses, interiors of cupboards, light fittings and vents etc.
Arrival/Change-Over Service Clean
This service involves a thorough clean and linen change plus maintenance check immediately prior to a client / guest arrival.
Interim Service Clean
We provide a clean and linen change at the end of the first week during a client / guest stay of two weeks or longer. Although a less intensive servicing of the property, there is still the same detail and focus on hygiene, particularly in the cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms.
An additional service, available on request, for those clients or guests requiring an extra service visit for cleaning, bed making, light washing, ironing etc. with hours and services to suit.
Winterising your property
Taking place at the close of the season, this service is vital to prepare your home for the rigours of the Menorcan winter. As well as cleaning throughout, mattresses and removable upholstery are 'stood'; pillows hung on pegs (or sealed in airtight bags along with linen where provided); and fridges, cupboards, wardrobes and drawers are cleaned out and left open. Additionally, electricity and water supplies are turned off and the gas is disconnected where appropriate. Externally, we remove and store all outside lights, sunblinds and any ornamental objects. If not practical to remove them, we wrap them to provide maximum winter protection.
MeHoCa provides an efficient, high quality laundry service to ensure that you and your guests have towels and bed linen that are spotlessly clean and ironed ready for your initial arrival. As part of an interim service clean a change of towels and bed linen are normally provided.
Our large state-of-the-art industrial laundry within our 650 m2 facility on the Sant Lluís industrial estate gives us complete in-house control of this vital service. We only use the highest quality detergents and conditioners to prolong the life of your linen. We can also store your linen in our warehouse, maintaining inventory controls to minimise loss. You can hire towels and bed linen from our own extensive quality stock. Clients who let their properties to paying guests often prefer this option. This part of property ownership abroad can cause more headaches, expense, wasted time and frustration than all the others put together!
That is why MeHoCa provides a complete financial and administration service for our clients. Our office is fully staffed 5 days a week, summer and winter (8.30 am - 8.00 pm in summer and 8.30 am - 7.00 pm in winter). Our multi-lingual staff handles an amazing range of requests and problems from our clients—from arranging a wedding to obtaining planning permissions; organising the installation of a telephone to translating legal documents. The list is almost endless! Our friendly team will do everything they possibly can to help you. No request goes unheeded because at MeHoCa we strive to exceed expectations—always!

All utility bills (water, electricity, telephone, rates etc.) can be sent directly to us. We will check them for accuracy and investigate anomalies. Payments can be made either by direct debit from your local account, or by us on your behalf.
Remember that there are no 'red reminders' issued in Spain and the utility companies can be quick to disconnect! Reconnection can be complex, time-consuming and expensive. A hefty fine is normal in addition to the amount due, plus a reconnection charge - 3 to 4 days without power after payment of outstanding bills is very common!
We can also arrange and co-ordinate your house and car insurance. If you are unlucky enough to suffer accidental damage to your property or car, we can obtain quotations for the necessary repairs and deal with the insurance claims involved.
We can also receive and monitor your local bank statements, checking for accuracy of debiting and crediting and query discrepancies on your behalf.
Each year, every non-resident property owner has to submit an official tax return to the Spanish Hacienda (tax office). This is used to calculate your property tax and other taxes for the year. Late submission of the return and non-payment will incur swift and heavy penalties!
As a MeHoCa client, we will professionally look after your fiscal affairs. We can handle the complete process from the preparation of your tax return to the payment of the computed tax on your behalf.
Our fiscal representation service takes the risk, worry and frustration out of owning a property in Menorca and will ensure you do not fall foul of the law and suffer large fines!
Repairs, Renovations & Redecoration
Menorca Home Care directly employs a first-class team of skilled professionals on a permanent, all-year basis, who can handle any maintenance, repair or improvement work required.
This includes carpentry, plumbing, electrics, construction, plastering, tiling, roofing, central heating, air-conditioning installation, and more! If and when required, we can also call on a carefully selected panel of reputable partner companies, contracted to provide additional services to clients of MeHoCa. In connection with property improvements (the installation of new windows, shutters, pergolas, terracing and redecoration etc.), we can obtain quotations and make payments for them on your behalf.
From hanging a picture to major renovations and the construction of a new extension—you can have confidence in the quality, reliability and care of our workmanship.
Also, should you need furniture, soft furnishings, household and garden equipment, these items can also be sourced and purchased on your behalf.
Gardening & Landscaping
From one-off projects to weekly routine maintenance, call us for a quote!
We can provide the complete gardening service, including seeding and mowing of lawns, planting, pruning and weeding, repair and installation of irrigation systems, landscape design and construction. If you need new garden furniture or equipment, these items can also be purchased on your behalf.
Pool Cleaning & Maintenance
Our pool maintenance staff will visit on a regular basis to ensure your pool is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Your contract is inclusive of all the chemicals and materials necessary to keep your pool crystal clear. We also respond to, and resolve, breakdowns of pool infrastructure on a call-out basis. Should you need expert advice on improvements, such as re-tiling, installation of pool heating systems, new filtration equipment etc. give us a ring.
Security & Maintenance Checks
Whenever your property is unoccupied—summer or winter—we regularly visit to ensure it is secure and to carry out a programme of maintenance assessment to check that all appliances and services are in good working order.
The opportunity is also taken at this time to open and thoroughly air the property, which is vital to combat mould caused by Menorca's very high humidity. Any minor problems are also dealt with immediately. More serious problems involving expenditure above a pre-agreed limit are referred to you for approval. We also visit all properties under our management within 24 hours of all major bad weather events to check for any damage, water ingress etc. and to take any immediate action by way of essential or remedial measures to protect our clients' properties from serious damage.
24/7 Emergency Call-Out
Our maintenance team is directly employed and exclusively available to clients of MeHoCa, dealing with any emergencies at your property—for example, failure of essential services such as electricity or water supplies, breakdown of appliances or equipment, emergency repairs after storm damage, and much more.
There are always members of the team 'on-call' to respond quickly to any problem at night or at weekends. The value of this service really comes home when something goes wrong . . . your pump breaks down (no water!), or the water heater leaks, or even a tree falling victim to the infamous Menorcan Tramontana winds!!
Food Packs & Shopping
Many clients do not want to be bothered with shopping on the first day of their holiday!
We will provide a pre-arrival shopping service. Choose between an 'essential only' welcome pack or a fully comprehensive shop that will see you through several days. In either case, the goods will be unpacked and stored away to await your arrival.
Maximise your time at the beach or around the pool! We will provide a mid-holiday shop for delivery during your interim-clean visit.
We can also price-up and buy any item for your home if required, from replacing a broken cup to completely refurbishing the property, including taking delivery at your home.
Car Hire or Storage
Whether you own a car here in Menorca or wish to hire one for all or part of your holiday we can take care of it for you:
Whatever your transport requirements, we can arrange car hire at the most competitive rates. Our bulk purchasing power means we can secure very worthwhile discounts for our clients. Your vehicle will be waiting at the airport for your arrival or on request can be delivered to your property at a pre-arranged date and time. At the end of your stay simply leave the car at the airport car park!
No queueing, endless form-filling or bus transfers to off-airport sites!
If you own your own car here in Menorca, we will look after your vehicle during your absence from the island. Vehicles are securely stored under cover and are serviced as instructed. Tested, checked and fully valeted, the vehicle will be delivered to your property or will be waiting for you at the airport.
